How did you learn to think for yourself?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 11, 2007:

I was always either lied to, denied the truth, or just didn't like what people say, so I just said, this is the end of falsity and denial for me.  I can't stand lying, it's not the best policy.  Then I set out to find the truth and think for myself.
