Patience, An Experience

I know I haven't really started a blog, but I feel compelled to do so.

There are very small moments in your life that can make a difference to you and to others.  I used to visit my dad every spring break, sometimes going to florida for the week.  I don't remember how old I was or whether it really was spring but I do remember what happened that day.  It was Dad's choice day, meaning he got to choose our activities for the day, so we went fishing on this ship that could carry 20-30 people to go fishing off the coast of Florida.  Each of us was given a pole, some worms, and we sat on one side of the ship.  It began when I sat down and threw the line in the water.  I never took it out, unless the smart fish had got the bait without being trapped.  All I really did was wait wait and wait.  At one point I called out to the fish, "Get on the hook!  Come on!"   After one hour or so, just before the ship was about to turn in, I felt a lurge that was heavier than the smarter fish.  I spun the line into its coil, and caught a trout.  No one else in our group caught a fish, which included Dad, his wife Janet, my twin Sarah, and myself.  They say trout is hard to catch particularly because of the shape of its mouth which is not wide enough to get hooked onto.  Point proven.  Please make comments if it pleases you.

I guess that's one reason to value your the time your having rather than being impatient with the time that's passing.  What did your dad have to say about the whole thing after it was done?  The proud father or the amused and sarcastically jealous dad?  either way it sounded like a lot of fun.  I need to try fishing…

thanks for sharing!
